Apple Watch reset

I erased/reset my old watch before I unpaired it from my phone. When I try to unpair it now from my phone I get an error, it says "watch my not have unpaired properly, go to the Setting App on the watch to reset and erase all content (which has been done), since the watch has been reset nothing will come up on the watch, just the Apple logo.

How do I finish upairing it so i can give the watch to someone else?
