You’re quite welcome.
Yes, you can go straight to that version. However, I would never download any software from Softonic, or any other aggregator site. As Apple doesn’t offer it as a download, so finding a legitimate copy may be difficult.

It appears I was mistaken about Apple no longer providing a download for Lion. The link below is for the purchase of Lion.
Model A1208. 2006.
When I choose the apple menu, it does not give this information - it's on the bottom of the computer itself.
All the Apple menu tells me is the OS version 10.6.8.
Thanks for any help.
Hello,
What is your Macintosh’s exact model number?
Choose the Apple Menu > About This Mac
Lion (10.7.5) is the highest possible for that model. I believe it is no longer available as a download from Apple.
Thank you. Can I go straight to it, then, without any version in between?
I found a free download at Softonic - do you know if they are reputable/safe?
Thank you for the assistance.
Thank you. I'll be on the lookout then!
Thanks for the follow up!
You’re welcome.
