ria36,

Thanks for explaining! I'm glad you aren't experiencing an issue with the xpcproxy component on your Mac. XPC Proxy is part of the internal security system in the macOS software on your Mac that allows your applications to communicate with each other.

ria36,

I can see that you haven't received an answer to your query yet. Answering a few questions may help others assist you.

  • Where are you seeing xpcproxy on your iMac? (e.g. in Activity Monitor, a kernel panic, etc.)
  • Do you feel it is causing your iMac to behave in unexpected ways? If so, have you tried any troubleshooting to remedy the issue?

The more details you can provide, the easier it will be to help.

Good luck!

Thanks for your answer. I was reading a Dutch magazine for AppleUsers and they recommended the app Lulu. It’s an open-source MacOS firewall and although I know my Mac has it’s own firewall, I was just curious how it worked and so I gave it a try.

(it’s from objective-see.com). I asked me in a popup to allow xpcproxy (/usr/libexec/xpcproxy).
