Locking Screen on High Sierra without sleeping

I use the keychain toggle to lock my screen, but since updating to HighSierra, I find that my computer now sleeps when I lock my screen thus disconnecting my Wifi amongst other things. How can I lock my screen without having it sleep?

Maybe set a Hot Corner to start Screen Saver then Sys Prefs>Security>General>Require PW x after sleep or Screen Saver begins?
