What if iPad mini is not comptible?

Hi everybody,

please help. My daughter has an iPad mini (no generation visible), model MF432SL/A with iOS 9.3.5.

When I want to download a new iOS it says that it is updated. But still 9.3.5........

It is not possible to download a lot of apps (Microsoft Teams, Skype for iPads etc.) with iOS 9. It says that these are not compatible with our device.

Is there any chance to update the iOS?

Thanks for your help.

If your iPad mini is running iOS 9.3.5 and can't be updated, you have the iPad mini (original) that was introduced in October 2012. Unfortunately, your iPad mini isn't capable of running any newer versions of iOS, so you'll need to purchase a new iPad to use these apps. The current iPad mini costs $399 new from Apple, but you can find deals elsewhere online on used and refurbished iPad mini models. iPad mini 2 and 3 can run up to iOS 12.4.6, and iPad mini 4 and 5 are supported by the current version of iPadOS.
