Safari problems persist / iOS 13.4.1 and iPhone XR

Please refrain from the same resolutions and support pages shared for months.

Software updated? Yes

Force close Safari? Yes

Reboot iPhone? Yes

Clear website data/cache? Yes

Turn off all experimental features? Yes

Any relief from Safari loading pages slowly, pages wrong (middle of page, unable to scroll, navigation menus in odd places), or not loading pages at all? No.

Every day. All day. Every webpage. These problems persist.

Pages won’t load unless you click open a new tab or go back-and-forth between tabs. It’s never consistent what workaround will work and what will not work.

The most aggravating Safari glitch is the “hiccup.”

I describe the hiccup as when you load a page or tap a link, the Safari load bar (at top) starts, and stops. You still see the same page you started from but cannot scroll to see or tap anything. Suddenly, Safari loads a blank white page. The load bar stops again. You see nothing but a blank white page. Suddenly, again, Safari starts loading the page. Finally you have what looks like entire the page, but the load bar has stopped. If you scroll, everything “below the fold” is a blank white screen. Sometimes the nav menu, links, and buttons don’t work. Suddenly, yet again, Safari finishes loading.

At this point I’ll settle for an acknowledgement or status update of this problem. Even though I just want a resolution.

Anyone else still having issues? Anyone else have no luck with previous suggestions from Apple? Any updates on possible fixes? Any updates on if this is even being addressed?

It has been months like this.

Hi there run-midwesty-run,

I understand that when loading web sites in Safari there are multiple errors you're experiencing when loading the page. You're definitely on the right track with the troubleshooting you have pursued!

Based on the troubleshooting completed this far, here is a resource that can provide next the next steps:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Please note, following the steps in the above resource will permanently erase the data on the iPhone. Here is a guide that can be used to create a backup of your data:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

These steps can be used to restore the software on your iPhone to factory settings, in this state you can test Safari to see if the issues persist.

Cheers!

run-midwesty-run,

Thank you for replying back with the updated information on your iPhone. I understand that you're unable to restore your iPhone using iTunes. Below is a resource that can be used to erase an iPhone without a computer:

Erase all content and settings from iPhone

Since the last post indicated the iOS version as 13.4.1, there may also be updates to iOS that can be installed which can help.

To check if you're up to date with iOS, On your iPhone, tap Settings>General>Software Update.

If there is a software update available, below is a resource that can help:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have a great day!

So my only next option is to backup the IPhone, restore the phone to factory settings, and hope that this fixes the Safari problem??

I don’t know how this is considered an acceptable solution. I’ve followed Apple’s “troubleshooting” since I bought this phone in November.

Every “fix” has been a dud. A waste of time. Some of us are busy professionals with a life. I’m not going to carve out two hours of my time to devote to fixing a terrible product Apple made.

Safari hasn’t worked since day 1. Apple needs to fix this.
