Notifications on iphone and apple watch

Is there a way to change this? I don't feel the vibration on my watch and keep missing texts on it. This used to be possible by putting it in airplane mode but it no longer works. I need my sounds to come in on my phone.

Wish there was an option to receive message notifications on both regardless of lock status.

I got it to work, unfortunately I've already forgotten how or I would share. I went to the apple website and got on chat with tech support. They were able to help.
