Family sharing

All of our devices are under one Apple ID. Can I set up family sharing without assigning everyone a new Apple ID?

You can create a new Apple ID for any in your group that wants/needs one.

Here is some thing you can do. See How to create a new Apple ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204316. See the data implications below.

Some of these things will apply even though not changing an Apple IDWhat to do after you change your Apple ID or password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204071

Keep in mind that some things available under a first Apple ID will not be available under a new Apple ID. For example, you won’t be able to transfer anything purchased from the App and iTunes Stores to the new ID. And, there are other issues to be addressed.

And see what Eric Root says on this matter here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251343949 and

what Winston Churchill says about it here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7452747

__________

You also can set up family sharing among the IDs to share purchases made with them. See:

When we set it up that way, our children were younger. Now they are 18, 17 and 14. My husband and I use the cloud to save our pictures, but then we have each other’s pictures on our phones. My daughter needs to store photos on the cloud, but we don’t want all her photos on our phones. We also have issues with FaceTime calls going to to wring phones sometimes since we are all on the same Apple ID.
