How long will my vintage MacBookPro11,1 receive MacOS updates?

I noted recently that my MacBook Pro 11,1 (mid 2014) has been declared vintage. Also, I was not able to tell exactly what that means in terms of how long it will receive operating system updates. This has been a wonderful machine, and I will likely replace it with another MacBook of some type.

However...does anyone know what the update timeline is for Mac OS updates after a device is declared vintage?

Thanks!

We have no idea how long Apple will support macOS on this laptop. Currently a 2014 laptop can run Catalina so that means at the very least you can receive security updates for about another two years. If macOS 10.16 supports this hardware, then you can expect at least another two years after that assuming Apple doesn't change anything.

As for hardware repairs "Vintage" means that Apple may still repair this laptop for up to two years as long as the necessary service part is available.
