Play multiple videos on Single Screen but One by One in FCPX

Assume the videos play left to right. You have to make a freeze frame of the middle and third videos. Stretch out the freeze frames for the length of the first clip. At the end of the first clip made a freeze frame on that clip and extend it the whole length of the video. The middle video now plays, the first video is in freeze frame, and the third video has its freeze frame extended while the middle video plays. At the end of the middle video a freeze frame is added to that clip, while the last video plays.

While one of the four videos is playing, what do you want the others to do? Stay at a fixed frame? Not be there at all?

Tell me if I understood:

• you have four clips, to positioned

• You want B, C, D to be "paused", and A to play;
• When A finishes, it "pauses" and B plays;
• and so on

You are almost there!

All you have to do is add appropriate Hold frames to make each clip "pause" at the desired times.

To add a Hold frame, select the clip and place the playhead on the frame you want to... hold. You will then be able to adjust the duration of the hold frame.

Build the display with the clips stacked on top of each other. Once you have that slide the clips down the timeline so they drop onto the primary one after the other.
