Group messages arrive in batches twice per day

Hello,

I have an iPhone X. Just updated to iOS 13.4.1. Was on the most recent version prior to that.

About a week ago, my group text messages have only been arriving in batches and they come twice per day. I am in a group message with some colleagues. The other 3 members are communicating all throughout the day. Twice per day (the time of day varies) I will receive all of the messages at once.

Some troubleshooting I've tried:

Updating Software version to 13.4.1 (most recent version)
Shutting the phone down and turning it back on
Turning Group Text off, waiting a few hours and turning it back on
Turning MMS off, waiting several minutes and turning it back on
Reset Network Settings
Using Wifi to connect (This is my normal way of connecting)
Turning Wifi Off
Turning Wifi Assist Off

Any suggestions?

If these are coming in as MMS messages (because the group contains non-message users) you'll need to contact your cellular carrier.

I'm assuming you are not turning off cellular data for some reason. MMS messaging requires cellular data.

If you're in an area where cellular coverage is extremely poor and using WiFi calling to get around that, MMS messages may not be received until you're in an area where you can get a good signal. WiFi calling works for calls and SMS messages, but not MMS.
