Can't record audio with external microphone with iPhone 7, iPhone SE and iPad
Hi!
I'm trying to record video or voice memo with external mic, and all I get is popping sound, either through lightning connection or stereo headphone jack.
This is my setup:

I've tested trying to record video with camera app or record audio through voice memo app with:
- 2 different iPhone 7 running iOS 13.3.1, (using lightning port)
- 1 iPhone SE running iOS 13.3 (using lightning port and also stereo jack - no need for the SC7 cable in that configuration),
- 1 iPad 1 (model MD328LL/A) running iOS 9.3.5 (older with 30-pin connection - so I tested though stereo jack only - no need for the SC7 cable in that configuration)
- 1 iPad Air 2 running iOS 13.3.1 with lightning connection so I tested through lightning connection
- 1 iPad Air 2 running iOS 13.3.1 with lightning connection when plugged in the stereo jack - no need for the SC7 cable in that configuration
All these tests have the same result: an ongoing poping sound with no audio from mic.
I made sure the battery in the rode mic was still good and that the power was enabled on the mic.
There is one setup that did work:
Last test I did: Yes I did that ; ) I tested with a Samsung Galaxy S5 through the stereo jack and my test with S5 was successful, so my gear (rode mic) is working fine. I also tested the rode mic through audio interface connected to my Mac book and recorded audio was very nice.
So anybody experiencing this ?? I can't find anything online about this issue... So many articles and videos which tell you that it works and how to do it, but to no avail for me.
