Yes, the find my iPhone app will locate your iPod when it is connected to the internet. Make sure that you have turned on "Find My iPod touch" in iCloud settings. Then go To www.iCloud.com on your computer and sign in with your Apple Id. Then click on the find my iPhone app. After a few minutes your iPod should be located. Click the button that says "Show devices using find my iPhone" and you will see that your iPod is online.
