Apple watch won't pair

I've been trying to update my apple watch and when I open the app in my phone, it says "please wait". When I click on "start pairing", the camera is blank so i can't put my watch in the view finder. There is also no device list when i try to pair manually.

Apple Watch not pairing to new phone. I cannot pair my Apple Watch to my new phone. I don’t know how to solve the problem. It won’t detect the frame when I try to pair and it won’t let me click on the “I” icon.

Please restart the watch and then use How to restart your Apple Watch

To update Apple Watch OS follow the directions in Update Apple Watch software

Are you trying to pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone or update your Apple Watch? They are two separate processes.
