How many photos would an iPad 32g hold?

That is a subjective question as photos/images can be in varying file/dats sizes.

That stated, you need to know that the practical, usable internal storage of a 32 GBs iPad is actually between 20 and 22 GBs of usable data storage.

So, if you plan on storing a boatload of images on such a low storage device, I wouldn't recommend it unless you opt to use complementary offsite, online third party storage services like Google Drive/Photos, DropBox and/or Box for data/image storage.

As mentioned it will depend greatly on the quality and resolution of the photo being stored, in other words file size of the photos. Photos can be anywhere from a few KB to several MB in size depending on format.

At an average, at current camera reslutions and quality, a photo is maybe 3MB to 5MB in size, you could potentially get 5000 to 6000 photos. If you have nothing else in the iPad.
