Bad Vo2max accuracy

For a half year, the Apple Watch is measuring a Vo2max around 41-42, which is not really good for a 28-year old men.

Today I've got the results from my sports-medical examinations with a Vo2max of 53.

That's 26% uncertainty, so the algorithm isn't really accurate.

When I read the instructions calibration does not seem to be an active process...

you don’t tell it to calibrate...you do a walk or run and it calibrates...

the page just says do a walk and it will calibrate and then that it continues to calibrate as you do more walks/runs...

the instructions to calibrate really apply to those who never use the workout app to do a walk or run...to people who may look at the # of steps they walk but never record formal work outs...

my VO2 max started at 39 went to 42 then dropped to 36 over several months...I have done many walks and runs in that time..,

maybe calibration data some how becomes corrupt or inaccurate...

Maybe when I disconnected and reconnected I forced it to delete the old calibration data...

in the page you reference there is a section “reset your calibration data”

maybe that would have the same effect as my solution of disconnecting - reconnecting
