I just purchased a brand new iPad 7th generation, it appears Apple no longer allows you to use iMessage or FaceTime without a cellular carrier. I even talked to Apple support and with WiFi I cannot use iMessage. Has anyone else experienced this or know a way around it?

If I were in your situation, I would consider resetting the iPad to factory settings, then setting it up from scratch - not restoring from any backups. Just to see if that changes things.

My iPad does not have Cellular and it works just fine with wi-fi. It is signed into the same Apple ID as my iPhone, but the iPad does not use Cellular.
“FaceTime Acitvation. An error occurred during activation. Try again.” I do have an iPhone and it works just fine. I can’t log in and according to the Apple support you cannot use iMessage on the iPad without having a cellular carrier
What happens when you try?
Do you also own an iPhone?

Yes all my previous iPads can do it but not the new 7th generation. I even talked to Apple support
