remove firmware password MacBook Pro 13-Inch Late 2013 with soldered ram

mac does not start, has question mark folder, any recovery or diff key combination, pram etc reset - end up with a lock asking for password. i removed ssd and same thing, it wants a password and i have no idea what it is. no passwords i ever used work and i have no idea how or when this firmware password got setup. can't remove ram as its soldered. any other way to start it? can i put another ssd with OS? will it start from another SSD? or is there a way to put working OS on this SSD? will it then start? help please!

PS I did speak to apple online, they said bring in for repair, ssd needs to be replaced and local store will provide a quote :-( but i removed SSD and got same lock so it does not look like a replacement SSD will do much?

From: How to set a firmware password on your Mac - Apple Support

" If you forgot your firmware password

If you can't remember your firmware password or passcode, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase."

If you could by-pass the firmware password there would not be much point in having the firmware password functionality.
