The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder does not allow files to be created within it.

I have been using the same computer, external hard drive, and everything for years. Unsure why today, just randomly with the start up of my iMac, I am getting the following message:

The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder “/Volumes/PHOTOS/LIGHTROOM CATALOGS/LIGHTROOM CATALOG TWO” does not allow files to be created within it.

Any idea of what changed or why it would change so randomly? I have not done any updates or changed a thing, everything is stable right now.

I do know how to apply changes in privileges to a drive and folder, so I am in process of doing that. It is taking a VERY long time....

Any thoughts on that?

Thanks!
