Activation

You are trying to sell the phone? And the buyer says it is activated? It may be that it is still activated with your Apple ID?

Then are you following the steps in the instructions I linked to?

And, you need to contact your carrier regarding the SIM card - that is most likely the reason the potential buyer said it was activated. The retailer may have activated it.

Seems you were Mislead by the Seller.

So, Return this to the Seller. Request a Refund.

Where was this Purchased?:

• A Retailer: If purchased at a Retail Store - talk to the store manager and see if a refund is an option.

• A Web site: If purchased on a Web site (i.e. eBay), view the Terms & Conditions and see what can be done on their part, if they did not abide by the rules.

• In-Person: If purchased in-person, and they do not get back to you, then there may be nothing you can do. That's just the way it is :(
