I am being harassed by this person. I have blocked their number but I can still see them as online. They sent me msgs and after I blocked them They deleted those messages and I can see them deleted.
What's happening? Have I been hacked? How can I see the activity of a blocked contact: Their online status

You should ask Whatsapp why this is happening.
You have NOT been hacked.
Did you block this person's contact phone number on your iPhone? AND are you expecting to see the blocked action on your iPhone to cover activity within your WhatsApp app?
If the answers to the question above is a YES then you are incorrect. You can block a contact on your iPhone and that will affect the Message and Phone app. It will have NO effect on WhatsApp because WhatsApp is a separate app.

Try to get help from Whatsapp. Open the app and go to Settings at bottom right and scroll down to Help. There is a Contact Us link in there.
