Not only am I SO UPSET but also do you know if going to buy a new printer now, will it be compatible??? I don't want to loose more money because of this system upgrade!! Many Thanks
have you checked canons site if they have a driver for catalina for that model of printer?
apple does not write the drivers for canons printers canon does and suppose they don't view it as economical to maintain driver support for all models they manufactured.

Thank you for your reply Rudegar. Yes I checked the Canon support site and indeed they will not upgrade their drivers to support the new Catalina. Sadly I am off to buying a new printer :-(.
