I cannot connect to the internet when I travel away from home. Works good while I am at home

You need to talk to your carrier about cellular data.
If there's no Wi-Fi connection, iPhone will try to connect to the Internet using cellular data.

Try to fix it with Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
No need to reset anything more. Something about the way they're storing wifi credentials must have changed, so you have to re-enter your wifi passwords after doing this.
I have resettled the settings, no change. I’m home now and it works fine. I signed into other WiFi using a password and it sss as I’d I was connected but I wasn’t.
