How can I save changes to my Display settings; not even the the Display Icon in the menu bar , even if i start it from the
/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras
it disappears after usage.
btw found 600 dudes with the same problem on this forum!
The Display in menubar function is listed on the help page but doesn't exist; in Systemsettings.

I missed the part about scaling. I thought you were just asking about the status menu item. "my Display settings" didn't register as the actual settings when you started asking about the status menu.
If it continues to work, I wouldn't do anything.
If it starts forgetting again, maybe try an NVRAM reset.

The only Display status menu item that exists anymore is the Airplay menu, and only if Airplay is available.
Apple has never been very good at keeping up with documentation.
After the Last restart the system woke up with the right scaling!
well same as it ever was, every update means more clicking and searching.
