When I first got my MacBook Air, I signed into my mom's Apple ID because we shared it. I just created my own Apple ID and switched my MacBook and iPhone X over to it. However, I am receiving texts from both my phone and hers on my MacBook. How do I change that so I only receive my texts?

If you go to Messages/Preferences/Accounts and check the You can be reached for messages at, does her phone number show? If so, if you uncheck it, does that resolve the problem?

I did follow the steps in the article. When I went to Messages/Preferences/Accounts her Apple ID was still logged in instead of my new one, so I signed out of it and signed into my ID. It totally fixed my problem! Thank you so much!
