I am receiving FaceTime calls from myself

Hi everyone,

For the past week, I have been receiving notifications from my own phone number to join a FaceTime call on my phone. I have also received notifications saying that I have FaceTimed a group of my friends, even though there is no notification of this in the Phone app or FaceTime app. Additionally, they never actually received a call from me. Any idea on why this would be happening?

Hi MichelleT18,

Thanks for the response! I have checked everything that you told me about and it all seems to be as it should. I did find that my Facetime setting under "You can be reached by Facetime at" had some extra iCloud/me email addresses checked for some reason. I have unchecked those for now. I'll report back if this happens again.

Thanks!

Hey there Razuto22,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you and your contacts are receiving FaceTime calls from your number unexpectedly and with no initiation from you. I’ll be happy to help.

Are you signed in with your Apple ID on any other devices? If so, this could be one reason this is happening. Take a look at this link to help you verify and sign out if you are:

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

Also, go to Settings > FaceTime > Send & Receive and make sure only your contact info is listed there. Then open up the Contacts app and tap on your contact card at the top. See if you have any other numbers listed there as well.

I hope this helps.

Regards.
