iMessage Notifications

Hi all,

When I receive an iMessage notification from the lock screen, the notification says Messages with the message icon and "notification". I know there's a way to get it to say the person it's from instead of the generic notification, but I can't find it anywhere in settings. In notifications -> messages -> show previews, I have it set to when unlocked. Whenever I get a text message, I want it to say who it is from, but not the actual message. Any help is much appreciated!

iPhone SE, iOS 13

Hello andrewmswenson,

I understand that you are not seeing the person's name who texts you, just the iMessage app title. I can definitely help you with this!

In Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show Previews should be set to 'When Unlocked (Default) to see the person's name who texts you and under the name 'iMessage' until the device is unlocked, then you will see the message.

I hope this is able to resolve your issue. If you have any more questions or this does not resolve your issue, please reach back out on the thread!

Cheers
