Stocks widget stopped working mid May 2020

~3 days ago, the Mac Stocks widget stopped working. It says error retrieving chart, and also shows retrieving data at the bottom, but everything is blank. I tried taking out all but DOW J and NASD and no change. I am suspecting it has been abandoned (like so many others have been so far). Does anyone know, is this the case?


I sure wish they would leave the dashboard and widgets; I suspect they don't realize, or don't care, how many people really use and depend on them.

You can put that same information and more into your Notifications pane. Use the "Edit" button at the bottom to set up stocks, weather, calendar items, world clocks, and more, many of which were once available in Widgets:
