You would need to have at least macOS 10.14.6 installed to run Logic 10.5. I have the same computer and cannot update to Logic 10.5 because the video card that came stock with the computer is not compatible with the newest mac OS. If you have/can install a video card that is "metal" compatible, you should be able to update the OS and run Logic 10.5.

Gotcha. I upgraded my video card to a metal supported card, and am running Mojave (10.14.6) currently, so that means I shouldn't have any issues. Thank you!
