Hi, I just recently started using Motion, and I have been following YouTube tutorials to try some things out. However, I can't seem to get past this issue. Every time I add a filter to text nothing will change. When I adjust the settings of the filter in the inspector, the text remains the same. It's like it is completely unresponsive. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Can you please provide the specific details for the project? Can you explain the steps you take and in general what is the result you are looking for?
~What filter or filters are you using?
~What are the settings/parameters of the filter you are adjusting?
~What is the youtube tutorial you are using?
It would be good if you can add some screen shots to show the layers with the filter applied and of the filter settings.
So, the problem is that the glint filter doesn't have any effect for you?
What are you applying the filter too? - the text itself or the group?
Could you please screen shot with the glint filter applied?

I know this neon text tutorial., it is very useful for many projects. So, is your problem directly related to following the tutorial? You wrote originally that filters were not working for you - is that still the case? Can you give more detail please about what trouble you are having ? Where in the tutorial do things not work as expected?
I didn't have issues following the tutorial. Once I got to the part where he added the glint filter, (I know in my screenshot I was using glow, but I was just trying a different one to see if it would work), he began to adjust certain parameters like glint size, etc., so I tried to do the same thing and nothing would change. That's where my issue is.
Oh wow, this just solved my problem. I had the filter only applied to the text, but when I deleted it and reapplied it to the entire group, it started working as it should. Thank you so much for the help!
That's is good to hear! Hey, I did note that in your screenshot your group is set to 2D - while Mark is using 3D groups in that tutorial. That might cause some more unexpected results. You can right click on the group and choose '3D Group' to change it. Good luck with the project.
