No 4G option on my iphone 8

Hi, I am currently stranded in Cuba during the pandemic. They claim to have 4G coverage here. I purchased a data packaged for 4G.

Now I am trying to set it up and my only options are 2G,3G, LTE volte off/on...

why is 4G not there??

I'm sorry to hear about your situation during this pandemic. It sounds like you're having issues using 4G network in your area.


This article explains LTE and 4G


"Depending on the wireless carrier, 4G can indicate either a UMTS or LTE connection. If your carrier doesn't support VoLTE and is a CDMA carrier, you'll only see an option to Enable LTE. This allows cellular-data use over the LTE network when available. "


About the LTE options on your iPhone


If you are having issues with connecting to service, the following article will walk you through some troubleshooting steps you can attempt.


If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad


If after you follow the steps you're still having the same issue I would recommend contacting your carrier.
