Do I have to move sim card from iphone 7 to new iphone se (2020) to make it work on Verizon? I already transferred everything over from the 7 to the se, but I can't get it to work on verizon, and they tell me to move the sim card over???

You can either transfer the SIM from your old phone or call Verizon and ask them to activate it. You will need the IMEI if you call them. Either will work, neither is preferred.

ok, thanks. I did get the imei. It is apparently impossible to call Verizon now, chat isn't working on their website, and the process I went through on their website didn't work (even though it says Verizon on the new phone). So I guess I'll try transferring the sim card..
I appreciate the advice--I've never had to transfer a sim card before except when traveling, so it didn't make sense.
Did you not purchase your iPhone SE from Apple pre- configured for Verizon?
Which choice did you make at this point?
activate carrier later. i wanted to make sure everything got transferred over before activating
