Spontainous Crack while Holding in Hand

Hello

to make a lange Story short:

I discovered a hair crack after charging my IPad. So i decided to take a closer look at it.

I held it with my hands and suddendly heared a crack and now there is another crack.

i went to the local Apple store and they call the hair crack skratch and the said the other crack cant suddenly happen.

I went straight home and took a closer look at it with my magnifying glass

This dont looks like ist can happen from dropping.

Its a normal straight crack with another subsurface crack. You can See this clearly on the pictures.

Denote there is a Little hole on Connection between the subsurface crack and the surface crack.

What shell i do now?

What are the following steps?

Let's start with how old is your iPad? If it is within a year of purchase, it would still be under the limited hardware warranty. Apple would have to agree that this issue is due to a manufacturing defect for any type of reimbursement/repair/replacement. If it is over a year old, and you purchased an AppleCare+ plan with it, you may be able to get it repaired/replaced at a reduced cost.

Your next steps would be to check your support coverage, and if eligible, take the iPad back to your local Apple Store for resolution.

Did you go to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider ... or to some other third-party repair facility? If it was the Apple Store, I suggest that you elevate this issue to the store's manager for resolution.

The key to get your iPad repaired or replaced at no cost will be to prove that this damage was due to a manufacturing defect and not due to carelessness on your part. This is where working with the Apple technician will be important. You have to understand, these folks see a lot of damaged Apple equipment and are pretty good at telling if something is because Apple failed to provide a quality product. Apple also periodically has recall programs for certain devices. Whether or not your iPad is one of them, you can check at this link: Exchange and Repair Extension Programs - Apple Support
