My iPad keeps asking for a pairing code for my Apple Pencil. The pencil is Gen 1so can’t go into the Charing portal to pair. I got it to pair before but now it’s asking for a code and I don’t know of one? Any help?

by any chance have you got any idea why it might have connected before? Just because it was working great on the IPad for about 3 hours before the pencil ran out of charge then wouldn’t reconnect. Sorry if you don’t just seeing if there’s a loophole haha
Well, after reading your post, I saw the hidden gem in the profile that the iPad Pro was a 3rd gen. Missed that at first.
As others have said, the 1st gen pencil is not compatible with your iPad so it won't work.
You will need a 2nd gen pencil for your iPads
I downloaded a Bluetooth app and it came up that it wanted to pair with the Apple Pencil and a code I just put in 1234 before and looked like it done the trick but now nothing, it’s very strange and annoying because it can clearly connect just have to find out how to get around it
It doesn't look like the first gen Apple pencil is compatible with a 3rd gen iPad Pro:
