Did you purchase this device used from someone? It sounds like it may have been managed and not wiped before you started to use it, and then when updating it, it has taken it back to factory settings.
It would depend. If it is asking you for a username and password to get into it, it may be difficult. I would have said to try to access Settings to see if there was a profile there, but until you can get into the device, you cannot get there. If you cannot get anywhere on the iPhone, I would try a Recovery Mode restore. Follow these instructions. If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support After that, see if you can get in. If you get back to the Remote Management screen again, if it won't let you in, you are going to have to try to contact the seller. Does it provide a company name or anything, or just say Remote Management?
You purchased a stolen phone. It is under management by "paretec".
There is no way to bypass this. It is a managed device under Apple's Business Manager program.
Is your iPhone a work phone, and could your employer being using MDM to manage it?

No. Apple won't get involved.
If you can't return it for a refund, turn it over to the police.
