RE iCAL: When you backup a CALENDAR ARCHIVE, does it backup ALL the calendars? Or, do I need to backup each individual calendar?

If you use Calendar>File>Export>Export Archive...all calendars are included in the "Archive." As long as you are going to use that option, I also recommend also using Calendar>File>Export>Export...for each individual calendar. It never hurts to have too many copies.
