clouddocs.framework errors

Hi,

My Macbook Pro Late 2011 has recently started acting up. A few days ago I took it to a friends house and at some point the screen started glitching non stop. After, we heard 3 beeps and the computer shut down. The same thing kept happening. Eventully, we worked out that if we pressed the keyboard too hard, this would trigger the issue, so we left it.

The day after, I tried to turn the laptop back on and it got stuck on the startup "loading" bar, several times in a row. I reset the SMC and managed to boot up the computer. But something was off - the icons on the desktop were much slower to load. When I opened finder, the contents took forever to show, folder by folder. iTunes no longer opens because of an error. I can't open the Security & Privacy preferences pane, nor the Users & Groups. I've tried running Time Machine to do a back up but its stuck on "Looking for backup disk".

When I open Console, it generates Crash Reports every 10 seconds, all related to different things, but the main/commom culprit seems to be the following line:

Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CloudDocs.framework/Versions/A/CloudDocs

Referenced from: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AOSAccounts.framework/Versions/A/AOSAccounts

Reason: image not found

or some slight variation of it.

I have attached the latest EtreCheck report, hopefully there's something you can point out to me that could help?

(By the way, the day after a family friend who used to work for Apple opened up the laptop to find a loose screw inside and a couple of parts that weren't completely tightened up, which apparently explains the glitchyness, but now I still have all of these issues.)

Hello FilipeSousa,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. From what you've described, you're experiencing several issues with your Mac, but currently it sounds like you're having trouble with apps opening slowly or not opening at all. You also seem to be having trouble creating a Time Machine backup. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

First, start up in safe mode to see if the issues continue there: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

Next, check to see if you notice the issues with error messages and apps loading slowly in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

If the problems continue, try starting up from macOS Recovery: About macOS Recovery.

If you're still hearing the beeps when starting up, take a look at the information here: About Mac startup tones.

After trying those steps, again attempt to back up using Time Machine: Back up your Mac with Time Machine.

Take care.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your suggestions. I had already tried these before. Safe mode comes up with the same issues. I can't create a new user as the Users & Groups preferences pane doesn't open (I get an error message) and unfortunately, can't back up using time machine.

I have created images of my two HD partitions to an external one and will try reinstalling OSX from Recovery Mode. Hopefully this will help, but in the meantime if there are any other suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them!
