Why is this new phone getting hot quickly and losing its charge a bit faster.

The same thing has happened to me. Getting hot, losing charge rapidly, apps slow to open so not able to make or receive calls. Worse thing is I can’t get another iPhone as the stock is depleted because of COVD19! 😩

Store the device where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
Use iOS devices where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause the device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring the device back to higher ambient temperatures. Using an iOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.
I'm having the same issue. My charger that came with my iPhone SE wont charge correctly. I plug it in and it just sits there not charging. It will eventually connect for a charge but wont stay connected. I tried the charger on my old iPhone and the charger isn't the problem. The port is the issue. I dont know why it wont connect properly, I'm thinking about returning it.
One week of using the new SE and mine too is burning hit. My husband’s actually shut down due to the heat. We are not super active on our phones in general. Mine heated up while being inside and on the phone (on hold) for 25 minutes. This seems like an issue. Apple, what’s the solution?
Phone was at ambient temperature. Around 20 deg C. It is in a phone case which is fairly thick. Has a slide at the back for a credit card.
Are there recommendations for the size/weight of iPhone covers so as to allow adequate cooling?
