Hiding devices in family sharing

Hello, my question is: is it possible to hide one of my devices from the list of devices in ‘Find my devices/ family sharing’? I can see my family members’s devices, even if they are not sharing their location. I can also see two of my own devices (iPhone and iPad), but I don’t see an indication of what the other members can see about my devices. I would like to be able to hide one of my devices (iPad) from the list accessible by other family members. Is this possible, or only by removing the device from the ‘Find my...’ list completely?

In short, I only want my iPhone to be visible to others in the ‘Find my devices’ Location sharing app, without disabling the location finding feature on my iPad. I hope someone knows whether and how this can be done, it sounds like a very basic thing, but I couldn’t figure it out.

update: I couldn’t find the right iPad model in the list and I can’t edit it, mine is a 7th Gen (2019).

Thanks for your reply, Eric. You're right it's not exactly what I was looking for, although that article is helpful - the most helpful one so far, I think. I'm afraid that the exact feature I'm looking for is unavailable. Perhaps in the future it will be possible to simply hide a device from your family? Because that's basically all I want to do... not so complex, I'd think, but I'm not an expert at all and perhaps Apple just likes transparency :)
