iPhone 11 red discoloration

I’ve had my phone for 4 months. In a case the entire time. I live in Washington state not a super hot sunny area. And the edges are turning light orange all over like the paint is fading? I had all previous models for years I had my 6s plus and it never once happened, but in 4 months this happens? Not to mention my phone is in perfect condition besides their faulty paint job on the aluminum border,

I had the same problem with my red 11!!!!!! Finally I see it wasn’t my fault!!! When it happened to me no one else was complaining about this problem!!! I’ve already reached out to Apple for some kind of resolution as I and others like yourself were forced to keep those faded phones.

This is utter insanity, i bought my iPhone on the 3rd of July and the colour has already started to change... I didn’t pay a grand for this nonsense to happen and the fact that Apple refuses to do anything is ridiculous. When I buy a new car the paint doesn’t change colour in a month and if it did they would fix it. What the **** apple, get your **** together!

I just ordered my iPhone 11 In the mint green color in 5/21...and it already has several discolored areas around the aluminum frame! Kept in the case since taken out of the box. What the **** kind of quality is this!? I upgraded from a red iPhone 8, and it’s still completely red all over, no fades, kept in a case the whole two years as well.

Mine too. I also had mine in a case the whole time. It looks bad and quiet upsetting as I paid a lot of money for it. I also had it for a few months before I noticed the color fading. Since it’s red, the fading looks really bad. I wish I can replace it with silver one now. So upsetting

So, I bought my phone from Sprint and they said they would diagnose the problem at my cost. I just called Apple customer service and they told me that it's cosmetic and not a manufacturing fault. To me, if I pay over $700 for an item, I'd expect it not to discolor in 3 months time. I took good care of my phone and really expected more from Apple. Basically, it sounds like I chose a wrong color. The paint should really not wear off like that so quickly. My husband changed to Samsung already and I'm think I should too for my next phone. What a disappointment.

we are having the exact same issue with our red iPhone 11 we purchased in March. Apple said it’s not a known issue and is cosmetic therefore won’t cover it.... yet agree that we did nothing wrong and sadly are now in an awkward spot. Great thanks Apple for selling us a Ford Mustang that looks like a Ford Pinto.

I have same problem. Got my phone 4 months ago and the red on the edges is turning yellow. Phone does not look nice anymore with the discoloration. I was told the same by Apple support that its cosmetic and if i wanted another phone i would have to buy a new one. Im very disappointed and upset since the phone was expensive and i hAve also had it in a case the whole time. If i would have known this would happen to the red phone i would have never gotten it red i would have stuck with a black or white phone. Im disappointed with Apple for not assisting with this issue. I would understand if i had my phone for mire than a year but its only been a few months. I have been a loyal customer for many years as i had bought many iPhones through the years for my self and my family. They will soon be loosing a few customers. They should stop selling phones with faulty paint that doesn’t last. Its cheap for the worth of the phone. Sorry had to vent. Just very upset. Thus is frustrating.

Same for me, I have iPhone SE 2 product red and the color is fading on the aluminum edges exactly where the cutouts are of the case(mute switch, lightning port and speakers) on these spots the color turned into a orange kind of Color, I Suppose the red painting is just really weak and possibly cheap?!

Same problem here! I had a red 11 that faded. They were nice enough to replace it the first time but the second one faded also!!! Well, I was stuck with the second one!! I’ve since upgraded to the 12. Apple needs to do something!! I’ve already reached out to them and I hope everyone does!! I’m sure there’s thousands like us!!

Same here!!!! When it first happened to me they replaced it. At that time no one else had reported this issue. I’m glad to see it wasn’t just me or that it was my fault as the sales associate suggested!!! I’ve reached out to Apple for some sort of resolution. We’re entitled to something!

No, it’s not just the case for the Product RED, my black iPhone SE 2 has met the same fate. It’s my first iPhone experience. I have been using MacBook for a while and I thought why not give this new SE 2 a try and get into the 🍎 ecosystem? Who would’ve thought that I’d be welcomed with discoloration.

I am having the same issues as well, I would love to get a reply if anyone gets an answer. I tried calling Apple, and the customer service rep told me there’s nothing at the moment I can do to get this fix since I am out of warranty. And also he literally closed the phone on me 😂. So yeah... no more product red for me.
