Lost Canon MF244 dw printer

I have had this printer for a couple of years, plugged into my router and all was fine except I could never get it to scan. I had to scan so I bought an Epson ES-400 scanner and installed it this AM. Works fine, plugged directly into the Catalina IMac. Now though the printer has disappeared and all the combinations of trying to add printer, reset printing devices, etc. yield no Canon MF.... I read through a number of posts, nothing seems to help. In Sys preferences, Printers & Scanners I have no ability to add a printer. I get a search window up top and Name, Location and Use at the bottom. Search yields nothing and other fields are greyed out? Under hardware, printers, the new Epson shows up but no canon Printer. The printer worked fine until the Epson install......
