When I try to duplicate, copy, edit or export some of my older photos using Photos 5.0 on my imac (Catalina), I get this error: Failed to download assets for duplication. Failed to download assets for duplication
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
It is also not possible to Export Live Photos.
I got an error that says
Export Complete with Errors
0 (of 1) files have been exported
The export operation failed to create a file for the photo identified below:
IMG_1091.jpeg Unknown error (-1)
Interesting. "Live Photos" is a new one on me. I'm not really sure what that means - the photos I'm working with are ones I've "photoshopped" in Photos and duplicated before. They're also my original photos I've later scanned to Photos to work with. An Apple "improvement" I wonder?
"Live Photos" is an iPhone feature that gives a photo the quality of "Harry Potter" like slightly moving characters.
It does this by taking a short 1 or 2 second video when you click the take photo button.
I'm OK with my digital camera photos - the problem I'm having is copying photos I scanned from earlier black and whites then "cleaned them up" using Apple Photos. Trying to "copy" them for use in a document in the past was never a problem - now it is. Really trying.
This happens to Live Photos only.

I get the same error message when trying to duplicate or copy photos that are not "live" but were shot on a digital camera.
