Need help with Iphone restore or a total factory reset

I have a iphone xr that my son forgot the password and ended up breaking the screen and locking himself out also signed it out of his itunes after the screen broke it wouldn't work and it ended up locking him out now that its fixed how do I do a factory reset and get it working its never been backed up to computer
