Upgrading my old MacBook Pro (2.53 GHz, 17-inch, Mid 2010)

I bought everything compatible for it, a 2TB SSD, a new battery, and better RAM.

im still running the original OS that it came with, I never updated it.

once I open my Mac and replace the parts and upgrade it, the highest OS it can run I’ve read is High Sierra.

thats not in the Apple store anymore, how would I install it on my new SSD?

I’m trying to do this as easy as possible, thank you!!!

are there any good websites for step-by-step instructions or a video?

macOS High Sierra is still available for download via the App Store.

First things first connect your mac to your router via cable then

open Safari, do not use Firefox,

click on this link,

How to upgrade to macOS High Sierra - Apple Support

Go to Section 4

click on Get mac OS High Sierra, this will redirect you to the App Store

and open on the High Sierra download page it should say 'Get'

Before upgrading make a full back up of your Mac.

Check that third party apps you use have updates available for the new OS.

https://roaringapps.com

Check that your printers/ scanners etc have updated drivers and software available for the new OS.
