I need help! Do i backup my photos and videos to iCloud or iCloud backup?

No if you sync photos to iCloud, the photos will not be in the iCloud backup.

What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support

"1. When you use Messages in iCloud or turn on iCloud Photos, your content is automatically stored in iCloud. That means they're not included in your iCloud Backup."

Okay I feel real dumb rn lol I read this 3 times.. forget it but you seem to get this bs, so I’m gunna ask you! Under “Apple ID” - “iCloud”- “apps using iCloud” photos is the first thing and turned to ON why didn’t I get my photos back when I used my latest back up please help ! Phone was stolen and hacked I lost years of memories thought I was safe due to this being on!!

I’m having same problem! Did u figure out how to get them back?? I backed them up the button is on for them to be backed up when I do a backup but after phone was stolen I chose my latest backup everything came back BUT MY PHOTOS AND VIDS!! So it’s not just us either wth Apple if you got help or any answers please reply I’m so sad
