All word files lost when reinstalling Microsoft Word

After installing 13.5 to update Microsoft word on my iPad, I deleted and reinstalled the app to make it work (as I’m getting that new bug)

when I had reinstalled it, all my word files (work, university files) were all gone.

nonthing in iCloud or SharePoint and I tried to restore backup on my ancient Mac but the latest I had was 2018, so virtually useless for current assignments.

is there anyway to retrieve this?!

ive checked recent files, searched the whole iPad and it’s all just gone.
