retrieve voice mail family sharing not in contact child

I have family sharing set up so my child can only communicate with those in their contact list. They received a voicemail from someone not in their contacts. How can I, as the parent on the account, retrieve the voicemail?

Hi TLCLucey,

Thanks for your post! I see you are using parental controls with your child's device and would like to retrieve the voicemail. Are you asking if you can listen to the voicemail on your personal device? If so that is not a feature of Family Sharing. There may be a way to do that with your cellular provider.

Here is a quick refresher on parental controls:

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Take care!

I don’t need to listen to it on my device. I can’t figure out how to listen to it on his device. It’s from a contact that we don’t recognize so i don’t want to add it. But if it a school friend or something I’m ok adding it. I just can’t figure out how I (or he) can listen to it without adding the caller as a contact.
