scroll lock key on the macbook

hello! i have an LED gaming keyboard that lights up when you press the scroll lock key. it works fine when i try it on a PC but when i plug it into my mac and press the scroll lock key on the keyboard, it either changes the brightness of the mac display, or does nothing at all.

i downloaded karabiner off of github but it doesn't seem to be helping (i might not be selecting the right keys). there also isn't an option for scroll lock in apple's native settings, afaik. i'm a tech noob so there's only so much i know how to do haha please help, thanks!

Hello, adithi.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand you're unable to get your gaming keyboard to work with your MacBook. You've done some good troubleshooting so far on this issue. My recommendations is to check with the keyboard manufacturer to see if there is any software/update that needs to be downloaded. They may also have information about using the keyboard with macOS.

I do also recommend to contact the app developer for Karabiner about supporting the keyboard you have: How to contact an app developer

Best regards.
