Pixelated photos on "Photos slideshow'

Hi I tried to use the slideshow on Photos to show some photos to my family. Some of the photos become pixelated on playback. It isn't the quality of the picture as it is different photos that get pixelated each time, and sometimes they jump from unpixelated to normal. It also randomly pixelates the background

I have tried shutting down all the other apps whilst it it running with no luck.

In addition to the Safe Mode boot try the following:

As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? (This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread)

Log into another user account, Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac and see if the problem persists (this tells us if the problem is limited to your user account or is system wide).
