How do get my touch screen to work again after iPhone XS Max was immersed in water?

After getting my iPhone XS Max wet. the phone was not working properly. I plugged it in to the charger and a notification popped up saying lightning port detected water. I let it dry and when I connected it to the charger again, the message has disappeared but the touchscreen does not work.
